Create your own Superhero or Supervillain Character Art Contest - presented by Picktown Art Works

Kids ages 8 through 18 will compete by grade groups following an instructional presentation about Comic Book-Style Art.

The age groups are:
Ages 8-11
Ages 12-15
Ages 16-18
How does the Competition Work?

Rules:

1. Characters must be completely your own original design.
2.Characters must meet all the set criteria provided at the event. (i.e.  - We want to see characters, who we could walk down the street with as in having traits of everyday people.)
3. All character designs will include at least 1 paragraph explaining who the character is, their specific superhero traits, and  unique persona.

How the contestants will be scored:
1. Character must be original.
2. Character must incorporate both positive and negative traits.
3. Characters must meet the set criteria provided at the event per the submissions age group.

Tie Breaking Recommendations:
1.  The more a character incorporates real-life aspects and reflects individual personality - the higher points can achieve. This is not a requirement but it can really help make the difference between first and second place.

2. Profile or Action Drawing? Both can be a winner. A keen eye will draw their character with purpose. Showing a character in action can enhance the story of the character, however take caution it can also take away key details that a profile drawing can provide. Showing thought and purpose in your drawing will take you to the next level and make your art stand out above the others.
