How does the Competition Work?
Students will compete in up to 2 rounds of competition by grade group.  Students will compete on a Xbox system.  Rounds will consist of being provided a building challenge.  Students will be awarded points based on successful completion of the task.

  • Round 1 lasts 10 minutes (max) with the students being provided a specific building challenge.  Each student will compete in the grade group against 8 other competitors at the time.  At the end of the round, students will be scored on a scale from 1-100 based on their successful completion of the building challenge.  Potentially 16-24 people will compete in each grade group.  The 8 with the highest score will advance to the final round.
  • Round 2 is the championship round and lasts 10 minutes (Max) with students provided a specific building challenge.  Points will be awarded on the successful completion on the challenge and time taken to complete it.  Winners will be determined by highest overall points.
